Are you a fan of board games and looking to get yourself an early Christmas present for Christmas 2025? Well, be like me and pledge a few hundred bucks to yet another Kickstarter campaign.
Twisted Cryptids is a new board game being developed by the team behind Unstable Unicorns and Here to Slay, which Arielle said was “pretty fun.”
The campaign still has just under two weeks to go and has already reached a massive $1,18 million, smashing the original goal and opening up nine of the stretch goals, which include wooden token upgrades to the original cardboard set.
The game’s premise involves players choosing a mythical Cryptid, from Bigfoot to Nessie to Mothman, where they must attempt to tease, escape and survive humans as they enter the Cryptids hidden world.
The game is set to be complete in June 2025, and we should hopefully see it hit South African shores in late October, depending on the fullness of the shipping container heading our way, just in time for a little Halloween fun or for Christmas. We know how well these timelines go.
The first tier of backing starts at $29, or about R500, and the team estimates that shipping will come in a little over R600.
