Frank West is making like his zombies and coming back from the dead thanks to his shopping mall-set, zombie-slaying adventure, Dead Rising being resurrected as a remaster. A remaster that’s available to pick up and play today!
The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster isn’t just a glow-up for the original Xbox 360 classic; it’s a full-on zombie-fueled makeover.
Capcom has dug deep into the original to fix some of those “why did I sign up for this?” frustrations, and now, for the first time, rescuing survivors in the zombie-infested Willamette Parkview Mall will be less like pulling teeth and more like… well, pulling zombies apart.
Oh, and Frank? He can finally walk, shoot, and chat via walkie-talkie at the same time. The multitasking legend. But this is more than just a graphical upgrade.

The development team has also addressed some of the beloved original game’s shortcomings, for example, there will be no more heart-stopping moments when your favourite weapon breaks out of nowhere. Now players will get a heads-up before it turns into zombie toothpicks. And the controls? Let’s just say they’ve been brought back to life, too.
While the original controls felt like fighting off a horde of zombies with a broken joystick, fear not – the remaster lets you choose modern controls. But for those who like their nostalgia served with a side of awkward gameplay, Classic mode is still an option in the settings.
The remaster team even got some OG staff to help keep Dead Rising’s quirky charm intact. So, while it’s now more fun and less frustrating, it still has that unique vibe that made Dead Rising what it is.
So, are you ready to join Frank in the zombie-slaying action, or should this game have stayed six feet under? Let me know in the comments below.
