For anyone unaware of the name Odyssey Interactive, they’re a recently formed Indie Dev studio with ex-Riot employees focusing on free-to-play, cross-platform games.
In 2022, they released the competitive, hero, air-hockey 3v3 game Omega Strikers. A competitive air-hockey-like game where teams pick heroes and attempt to outscore their opponents. The game is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, Android and iOS and has received some stellar reviews from its player base, with a 9/10 score on Steam.
Since then, Odyssey Interactive has been cooking in the kitchen and has officially announced its latest project, Byte Breakers.

The idea behind the game is a Battle Royal Smash-bros, in which up to 40 players will take on each other in this platform fighter. Combining the battles from Smash Bros with a large open map will add a lot more strategy and decision making to the typical platform fighters we’ve been playing over the last few years.
Richard Henkel, the development teams co-founder, says: “We’ve been trying to find a blend of genres that you haven’t seen before because, as a studio, we’d rather try something crazy and fail than just make a game that you feel like you’ve already played.”
The game is still in its project phase and may not even come to fruition, but the team is holding a public beta in a few days that will allow players to play the game in its current state and give feedback to Odyssey Interactive. All you need to do is request access over on Steam.
This first beta test could make or break the game, so if it is something you’re keen on, go ahead and join in on the chaos.
