September has finally bloomed this year, announcing Spring and that beautiful dance between birds, bees, flowers and trees. Of course, this all means the world is blessed with an abundance of new hardware, and according to leaks and rumours floating around the internet, some new console announcements will be a part of that abundance.
Starting with our friends over at Sony, according to an anonymous 4Chan poster (an incredibly reliable source /s), Sony will announce its much-anticipated PS5 Pro console on the 9th of September. The leak shows off a promotional poster of the PS5 Pro coming in two different flavours, disc and digital. The digital version should hit the market at $599, while the full spec machine will land at $699, around $100 more than the standard PS5. The image also shows that the consoles should be released just in time for Christmas on the 6th of December. Design-wise, the PS5 Pro looks to have a few snazzy stripes down the middle, and we all know that adding a little racing stripe to your device definitely makes it faster.
On the flip side of the spectrum, rumours have also been circulating that September is the month Nintendo will finally officially announce the Nintendo Switch 2. However, this leak is all chalked up to a bit of speculation. Apparently, the Nintendo showcase we had at the end of August was pushed up to make space for a massive announcement from Nintendo in September. Since the Switch’s release, Nintendo has had a big September announcement every year, and now that they have essentially made all their announcements, people have begun to wonder what Nintendo has up their sleeve for the month of flowers, colours and hayfever.
While I want to believe the quite-possibly-Photoshopped promotional image of the PS5 Pro more than the “Nintendo has nothing else to say, so it’s gotta be this!” side of these two leaks, when it comes to the rumour mill, you never quite know what sort of flour you’ll get in the end.
If you could only choose one of these rumours to be true for this month, which one would you prefer to see? Let us know in the comments below.
