With Disney in full swing on their latest Star Wars series, The Acolyte, and Star Trek’s Strange New Worlds season 3 currently being filmed, it only makes sense that real space fans get a little something something, too.
Just last week, Josh Gad, the actor and Vo artist known for his role as Olaf in Frozen, teased that he was working on “the funniest and best” script he’s ever worked on. Teasing that a long-awaited Space Balls 2 was in the works.
Now, after an Instagram post went up by Jeff Sneider just a day ago, the sequel has been confirmed.

While the details for the movie are pretty sparse, we know that Gad will star in it and co-produce with Mel Brooks, the original Spaceballs director. Gad is also helping write the screenplay alongside Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez, who have previously worked on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Detective Pikachu.
Hopefully, we won’t have to go to Plaid to get any more information on the sequel, considering we’ve already had to wait almost 40 years.
