Bungie Officially Apologises For Destiny 2: The Final Shape, And Kicks Off A Do-Over

The aptly named Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2 is here. For many players, it’s been the final straw in a long list of issues with Destiny 2. To name a few of the problems players have been battling:

Difficulty logging in. Getting booted part way through activities. Cutscenes are not showing up at the end of missions 1, 4, 5, 6, or 7. Honestly, those are only some of the many issues players have been running into.

Now, Bungie has come out of hiding to apologise to their rightfully upset player base and said on Twitter:

If connection issues have blocked you from playing or enjoying The Final Shape today, we want to apologise.

We’re hard at work trying to resolve each of these issues as quickly as possible, and many of the connection issues from this morning have already been fixed.

As I write this, many of the smaller issues have been resolved. However, the problem with players being kicked requires rolling server restarts, a sort of do-over currently in progress.

For players who have missed out on cutscenes, Bungie has said that as a temporary workaround, they can replay the missions by accessing the Re-playable Missions node in the middle of the Pale Heart map.

It’s never great to see a game or expansion let players down like this, but it’s even worse when these issues follow Sony leaking the game days before release.
