In a real case of good news and bad news, It Takes Two has finally been verified for Steam Deck. And while this dose of good news for anyone using Valve’s handheld means that you’re no longer required to use the EA App to jump into the game, making everything from sending game invites to hopping into friends’ games and even saves easier and more streamlined there is one, minor niggle.
If you were previously relying on EA App Cloud Saves for your game, well, they kind of, sort of don’t work anymore, and you’re going to have to do a good old-fashioned old-school workaround to fix that issue.
In a statement released by EA, the company said:
Due to technical limitations, save games previously stored in the EA App Cloud are no longer accessible.

Thankfully, EA isn’t just telling players to kiss their progress goodbye; instead, they’re going old-school with their workaround.
First, players will need to follow the link here. Then scroll down to the What happened to EA App Cloud Saves? part.
There, players will find a link to a complete save game file, which can be downloaded and copied into the C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ItTakesTwo directory.
Once that’s been done, players will be able to jump into the game and use the Chapter Select menu to start playing from any chapter.
It’s obviously not the same as having your own saved file, but it’s better than nothing, and it’s refreshing to see EA make the effort to help players out instead of just ignoring them. Good job, EA. Good job.
