Just months ago, Toys For Bob spun themselves off from Activision-Blizzard to save the studio from the mass closures. Then, they teased a new game they were working on in partnership with Microsoft.
Now, after a few more months of internet silence, Toys For Bob might just have confirmed the original tease.
Toys For Bob just updated its webpage from its original look to a completely black canvas with a purple-tinted tiki mask in the centre. Toys For Bob was also behind a few of the Crash Bandicoot ports and Crash Bandicoot 4, so most people would immediately assume that the tiki mask is similar enough to an Aku Aku mask from the Bandicoot franchise and that Toys For Bob is hinting at a new Crash game.
However, Toys For Bob has had Crash or tropical-themed branding for a while now, and I think we should be more interested in the mask’s colour than its similarities to Aku Aku.
In the original tease, Toys For Bob ended their statement with “…keep your horns on and your eyes out for more news.” This very obviously suggests a Spyro game is in the works, and, well, he’s quite the purple feller.
Add to this the rumours circulating Reddit posts and YouTube about all the yet-to-be-confirmed chatter from PAX East about a Spyro 4 being developed, and it looks like all roads point towards the arrogant little dragon.
All we can do is keep our horns on and our eyes out for more news on what is definitely going to be a Spyro game.
