Rauniot Is A New Sepia-Toned Point-And-Click Adventure Game Set In Northern Finland

It’s no surprise that I love point-and-click adventure games. Rauniot was never on my radar, but now that I’ve seen it, I’m blown away and can’t wait to try it.

Brought to us by Finnish indie developer Act Normal Games, Rauniot is beautiful. It’s a sepia-toned game set in northern Finland, a world not often explored in gaming.

The game puts players in the shoes of Aino, a survivor of a massive natural disaster that’s pushed civilization over the edge. Aino is someone trying to assemble a group of survivors in an apology-pic world. While the premise is bleak, the game is everything but.

It shines in its striking visuals, and players can play through the entire thing without firing even a single bullet.

According to Act Normal, the game was designed so that puzzles don’t have to be tackled in a linear order or with a single solution, giving the point-and-click genre some much-needed freedom.

The reviews on Steam are very positive, with many complimenting the Finish voice acting, setting and engaging puzzles throughout.
