The fast-paced, action first-person shooter, featuring crazy movement and more destruction than your cat with a toilet roll, The Finals, is getting a second season and some much-needed fresh content.
The game has been teased for a few weeks now, and some of their social media platforms look as if they’ve been “hacked.”
A rogue organisation called CNS has somehow hacked into The Finals data and has reshaped all the environments and gadgets, adding a whole more fun to the game show.
A new map has been added, featuring “voxelised” digital-looking bricks. This new map is partially loaded and pits players against each other in their wildest, neon dreams. In addition to new weapons, each class also has at least one new gadget to play around with.

The light class will receive The Gateway. A two-part throwable device that creates a temporary portal for all players to use, even your enemies. The transportation seems almost instant, and you won’t be able to see or shoot while using the portal.

The medium class gets the most love this season, receiving a gadget and a new specialisation. Their gadget, The Reshaper, turns objects in the world into other random objects. This could convert a chair into an explosive barrel or an enemy’s stack of mines into potplants and balloons. The specialisation they get is The Dematerializer. This will allow players to temporarily erase physical surfaces, like walls, ceilings and goo. Bullets, cashout stations and even players can hop through these temporary erasures before they close up again.

The heavy class will receive The Anti-Gravity Cube. A grenade-like device that emits an anti-gravity field in its immediate area. From the video, we can see it will affect cashout stations and other players, but we’re yet to see if throwables like grenades and mines will also be stuck in zero G.

As for weapons, the light class is getting the 93R burst-fire machine pistol, the medium class is getting the FAMAS burst assault rifle, and the heavy class receives the KS-23 slug shotgun.
CNS has also added a new 5v5 game mode for those who aren’t a fan of getting third-partied every thirty-six seconds, and the new battlepass looks to be chockful of all new content.
The new season kicks off on the 14th of March, so you have up until Thursday to finish off the current battle pass and claim all the rewards before The Finals gets its massive Season 2 overhaul.
