Logitech introduces the MX Brio Webcam

In somewhat exciting news for those of us who use webcams to create video content, Logitech has just unveiled its newest high-end webcams. Dubbed the MX Brio and MX Brio 705, this Ultra HD 4k webcam comes about five years after the original Brio 4k launched to market.

Of course, what would a 2024 tech announcement be without an AI feature set? The new Logitech MX Brio features AI-enhanced image quality that automatically manages light correction, face-based image enhancement (probably filters) and finer image quality compared to its predecessor.

“We know that MX users collaborate and communicate from many different environments and need a versatile webcam offering the best video and sound quality,” said Anatoliy Polyanker, General Manager of the MX Business at Logitech. “MX Brio is our highest quality webcam, featuring customisation and the ability to show themselves or their work in the best possible way.”

The Logitech MX Brio features an impressive 8.5-megapixel sensor which is about 70% larger than the Brio 4k. The maximum supported image quality is 4k/30fps.

The new webcam also features other advanced customisation features to allow users to “fine-tune” the camera with manual controls covering most of the picture settings you’d like to adjust, including.

A handy feature added to the design of the MX Brio is Show Mode; this allows you to tilt the camera down and display what’s on your desk in front of you, like your notes, a sketch or a product. Then, for those times when you’re not using the webcam, the included privacy shutter means you can close the lens with a physical cover.

For users who don’t use external microphones, Logitech also improved the microphones on this webcam with two beamforming mics that reduce background noise.

When it comes to corporate users who need more pazaz from their webcams, Logitech also introduced the MX Brio 705. This webcam features RightSight, a cool technology that will detect and centre your face on screen even if you move around -something which is really handy for live streams and presentations. Let’s hope this feature makes it to the MX Brio too.

There is no word yet on the local availability of the MX Brio, but it launches in the US and EU in March 2024, with a recommended retail price of $199 (about R4,000 in those markets).
