It seems like we’ve been waiting forever for the next big patch for Stardew Valley, but fear not. A year after ConcernedApe announced the massive Patch 1.6 was in development, it finally had a release date.
Thanks to a post on X today, celebrating the eighth anniversary of Stardew Valley, we now know that the 1.6 Update will be out on PC on the 19th of March, with mobile and console releases planned for soon after.

It’s wild to think just how successful Stardew Valley continues to be, even eight years later and that it’s still receiving massive game-changing updates. As for what will be included when the 1.6 Update launches? We’ll have to wait and see.
Over the last few months, ConcernedApe has played around with a new farm layout, eight-player multiplayer support, hats for pets, and the possible addition of the long-awaited iridium scythe.

As of February 2024, Stardew Valley has sold over 30 million copies, with 19 million being sold for PC alone. These sales numbers put Stardew Valley ahead of other super impressive games like GTA: San Andreas and Super Mario Odyssey.
With a new update on the horizon, a worldwide concert tour underway, an official cookbook coming soon, and over 30 million copies sold, Stardew Valley is thriving more than ever.
As always, I’m eternally grateful to the players (you!) for making all of this possible. – ConcernedApe
