Cyberpunk 2077’s Cops Now Care If You Kill Drunk NPCs

Just because CD Projekt Red is done adding new and shiny content to Cyberpunk 2077 while they turn their focus to the sequel doesn’t mean the game is dead in the waters.

This week, a new patch arrived for the game, patch 2.11, that brings about many minor tweaks and adjustments. Still, probably the most notable of these tweaks is that now, for the very first time in the game’s long and sordid history, cops will care if players kill NPCs who are drunk.

Yup, you read that right. Until now, players could just run around like little serial killers, knocking off as many NPCs as they wanted, just so long as they were only focusing on the drunk ones., and I don’t know if I should be deeply amused or just a little bit horrified.

The other fixes of note are boring things like melee finishers finally working as intended. Overly specific stuff like fixing the possibility of getting killed by a quickhack while Berserk is active, despite its feature ensuring that health cannot drop below 25%, to some really weird fixes like an issue that could cause loot to float in the air as well as reappear in the same spot after picking it up.

Patch 2.11 also reduces the frequency of car chases. Motorcycles have had their brakes and suspension tuned, and there is also now a new option in the settings menu to expand radio management functionality.

Players will now be able to sync to vehicle radio, which means the music will continue to play after exiting a vehicle, and players will be able to cycle through the radio station just by pressing the Radioport button.

But now we want to know from you: before this patch dropped, were you just running around killing all those NPCs who were having a better night than you? Let us know in the comments.
