Here are two facts you might not know about American singer-songwriter and record producer T-Pain. First, he is busy working with Rockstar on Grand Theft Auto 6 and second, he is a gamer.
And not just any gamer, T-Pain has a significant affliction for GTA Online roleplay and can often be found hanging out on the NoPixel RP server.
Now that I’ve blown your mind, I’m going to shut down your dreams of jamming a few RP sessions with the T man himself.
In his latest Twitch stream, because yes, apparently T-Pain also streams on Twitch, the T man explained that working on GTA 6 had resulted in him no longer being able to lead his best RP life.
“I used to be on NoPixel, and then, how about this s%#t? I used to be on NoPixel, then I started working on… GTA 6, and Rockstar told me I couldn’t do RP anymore.
They had this whole speech, like, ‘What if somebody took your album and re-recorded it, and more people were listening to that?
I was like, okay, I kinda get that, but I was having a good time!”
It’s not hard to imagine that Rockstar wouldn’t be too happy that a big celebrity involved with their upcoming game would rather spend his time living a double life in unsanctioned and unofficial servers.
However, it is funny how quickly minds can be changed.
Not long after banning T-Pain from NoPixel, Rockstar acquired Cfx.re, the company responsible for making the mods that serve like NoPixel.
This move wasn’t missed by T-Pain either, as he explained on his stream:
“Then they teamed up with the people that make the RP shit! I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, what!? What the f#$k!?'”
Y’all told me I couldn’t do this s#$t then y’all teamed up with the people that enable the RP s$#t to happen? Anyways, whatever.”
It’s worth noting that the T man laughed the entire time he told this story. Hence, it’s unlikely that he is upset about this in any way.
Still, the main takeaway is that T-Pain, a man best known for his monster hit Buy U a Drank, was, until recently, living his best RP life on NoPixel. Mind. Blown.
