If you thought 2023 was a crazy year, Steam might have you beat. Not only did Steam celebrate its 20th year as a storefront, once so incredibly hated and now a staple for PC gamers worldwide, but it also released a record-breaking 14,532 games in the last 12 months.
These games include everything from NAG favourites like Baldur’s Gate 3, Dave the Diver and Sea of Stars to games so bad we’d rather pretend they didn’t even exist, like Gollum and The Day Before.
According to some fun facts and figures published by SteamDB, Steam saw almost 2,000 more games released in 2023 than the year before — a staggering number considering that in 2008, Steam only released 71 games.
