Last night, Santa arrived for Halo Infinite players, and he brought with him perhaps the bestest gift of all – the return of the classic Firefight PvE mode, with a little something extra to keep things interesting.
This time, Halo Infinite players can team up with three other players in Firefight: King of the Hill, a mode that consists of nine maps.
The return of PvE Mode is hardly the only exciting thing to happen to Halo Infinite as of late. In October, Halo Infinite Season 5: Reckoning brought some exciting content to the game.
From a revamped Extraction mode, new multiplayer maps and even new Flood cosmetics, multicore helmet support, and Forge AI features. It’s been an exciting time to be a Halo Infinite player.
But going back to the current update, Firefight: King of the Hill will work very similarly to the classic Firefight mode from Halo 3, but players will also need to capture hills while fighting progressively more difficult waves of Banished enemies.
Firefight: King of the Hill doesn’t have a shared lifepool like traditional Firefight. However, teammates can revive each other, just like in Attrition.
The maps players can enjoy while playing Firefight are:
- House of Reckoning
- Behemoth
- Deadlock
- Launch Site
- Live Fire
- Oasis
- Exiled
- Kusini Bay
- Vallaheim
Firefight: King of the Hill will also be available for Custom Games, and a classic lifepool option is available for those wanting a more familiar Firefight experience.
Halo Infinite has been in the midst of a resurgence since Season 5 rolled out, and the addition of Firefight mode is just another step in the right direction for the game. Do you play Halo Infinite? Let us know in the comments.
