Love it or hate it (and let’s be honest, no one hated it), there is no denying the roaring success of Dave the Diver in 2023. In fact, had it not been for the release of Baldur’s Gate 3, there is an excellent chance that Dave the Diver would have been crowned the absolute best game of 2023.
As of writing, the game is still among the highest-rated games ever, with a solid 90% overall rating. But ever since its release, many have wondered what developer Mintrocket had up their sleeve next. Now we have that answer – and it’s already set to arrive in 2024.
Mintrocket’s latest game is set to be a PvPvE Zombie Survival game called Nakwon: Last Paradise. Its upcoming pre-alpha playtest will kick off on the 28th of November for those eager to take it for a spin.
Nakwon: Last Paradise can be thought of as an Escape from Tarkov, but with zombies and will see players scavenging resources while trying to survive both AI zombies and other players.
Mintrocket recently released 22 minutes of footage of the game to give potential players a taste of what awaits them, which you can check out here:
Nakwon: Last Paradise seems like such a departure from the colourful and cutsie Dave the Diver. However, it’s worth noting that Mintrocket is a sub-brand of Nexon, one of South Korea’s oldest and most significant video game publishers.
The company is responsible for titles like MapleStory and Dungeon & Fighter, so they already have quite a few feathers in their hat and should, by all standards, be able to pull something like Nakwon: Last Paradise off in stride.
