Just when it seems we’ve seen every possible Magic: The Gathering collaboration, a new one is announced, and it’s a biggy.
Magic: The Gathering is no stranger to collaborating with various popular media franchises across movies, TV, comics and even video games, but today, the company has announced potentially its most prominent collaboration yet, Marvel.
“We are extremely proud to collaborate with Marvel to bring its iconic characters to fans around the world in new ways. These tentpole sets will build on the tradition of incorporating beloved fan-favourite characters and elements from world-class brands into Magic: The Gathering.” -Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro Digital Gaming president Cynthia Williams.
This collaboration marks a return to the world of trading cards for Marvel, which has published numerous trading card collections over the years, dating back to the 60s.
The Marvel collaboration is not the only significant change players can expect for Magic: The Gathering. Earlier last week, Wizards of the Coast revealed four Fallout-themed Commander decks and a Final Fantasy crossover due next year.
