Foxhole Takes to the Seas in its Latest Patch

Foxhole is a military combat MMO with an exciting dynamic. The war that is played out between the two sides is persistent between logouts. This means that just because you’ve logged out of the game, that doesn’t mean the enemy troops aren’t still pushing to claim your territories.

It’s an epic, all-out war where you must think about more than just shooting down the enemy. Supplies need to be gathered, produced and shipped to the frontlines, and all of these processes need to be handled by individual players.

In its latest update on the 26th of October, Foxhole will add a new element to the game: naval combat.

In typical Foxhole design, naval combat won’t just be about moving a ship forward and sinking the enemy boats, oh no. Players will be involved in how the ship functions as well. Taking responsibility for oncoming water in the case of floods or even having to close sections of the ship off due to damage. This will affect how the ship handles or operates depending on which sections you’ve had to shut down.

Players will have to strategise on the fleet they send out, too. This is not a one-boat beats-all kind of situation. Careful consideration of the amount of gunships, destroyers and battleships will need to be taken. There will also be submarines, meaning ship captains will have to think about what’s beneath them and what’s in front of them.

Storming beachfronts, building temporary harbours and managing the supply lines for all these new vehicles will also need to be considered.

These strategic elements make Foxhole an exciting play, and with the new addition of the Navy, you can bet I’m going to be hopping back into the persistent war.

The team at Siege Camp held a live stream of what the new patch will involve, which you can check out here.
