When you think of good old RTS games from the ’90s, a few things cross your mind: Tiny PNG explosions pasted on top of blowing-up buildings, bald guys with cybernetic attachments and sick guitar riffs in the soundtrack.
Tempest Rising, an upcoming RTS that promises to deliver a game inspired by the classics from the 90s and 00s, has just signed on video game composer Frank Klepacki, ensuring those “sick guitar riffs”.
If you aren’t aware of Klepacki by name, you’ll definitely recognise his work from Command and Conquer by sound.
Hell March from Red Alert
Grinder from Red Alert 2
3D Realms, the publishers behind Tempest Rising posted an announcement video where Franck thanks the community for “kicking off the conversation to make this [his appointment to the team] happen”.
Unfortunately, the only way to vent all the excitement that I’ve now got from all this is to play the demo of Tempest Rising, available on Steam. Without an official release date announced I guess we’ll just have to take the news In Waves
