Song of Nunu; A Hard-hitting Story Game from the Riot Forge

Riot Games is most famously known for its hit MOBA League of Legends. Along with this fast-paced action comes a little bit of a toxic player base too, but Riot Forge and Tequila Works are slowing the tempo and bringing us a a warm adventure between a boy and his buddy.

Song of Nunu is a game focused on the story of Nunu and his yeti pal, Willump. In League of Legends, the pair can be quite tough to deal with if you aren’t expecting giant snowballs being rolled into your face, but in this new action adventure, we get to see the softer side of the two.

In an interview between Destructiod and Rowan Parker, the Creative Director at Riot Forge, we get a spoiler-free sneak-peak of the game before its release on the 1st of November.

Parker talks a lot about how the game will feature a hard-hitting story that can be quite relatable to those who play it – featuring an enjoyable mix of both cognitive and logical puzzles and a host of other LoL characters that’ll both be involved in mini-games and acting as the “bad guys” of the story. While the game does revolve around a young boy and his friend, Parker does explain that the game is not designed for kids, not because of mature content, but because the game does feature quite challenging gameplay at the latter end of the story. There are also hints at some heart-string tugging moments, and with a story that features an animal companion, I can already feel the tears coming on.
