Last week, we released our review of Payday 3, which you can read here. And while we had a great time with it, the users over on Steam have shared a different experience – so much so that Payday 3 has now become one of the worst-rated games on Steam.
Payday 3 is set a few years after the events of Payday 2 and sees the old crew pulled from retirement when a new threat pops up. Currently, the game includes eight heists, all with different phases and a large arsenal of weapons to choose from and more intelligent AI units to face.
In the lead-up to the game launching, fans were excited. However, Payday 3 now holds a Mostly Negative review on Stream, with 22,165 of the 25,387 reviews being negative.

The core issue players have is the game’s lack of an offline mode. Since launch, many players have suffered from matchmaking problems that prevent them from playing co-op or solo games.
These issues include extended wait times, constant server problems and faulty matchmaking. These complaints and issues haven’t gone unnoticed, with Starbreeze addressing them and releasing a statement assuring players they are working hard to resolve the problems.
Payday 3 has become one of the 100 worst-rated games on Valve’s platform. The game is currently at number 26 on this list, including other gems such as Redfall, Gollum, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, NBA 2K24, and Overwatch 2.
As of writing, the main request players have is that Payday will get an offline mode, meaning gamers will still be able to enjoy the game even with server and matchmaking problems.
