It’s almost time to strap yourself in and take to the skies when Starfield officially releases on the 6th of September. Still, to get the very best experience possible, there’s some stuff you need to know – which is where we come in.
Over the next few days, we will share some of the best tips and tricks for when that pressurised door finally opens, starting with renaming your ship.
Renaming your ship is vital to your experience in Starfield. Your ship is such an integral part of the game that you need to be able to make it yours. However, the option to do so is a challenging thing to find.
During your time in Starfield, you’ll spend much of your time free-roaming and boarding various ships and adding these ships to your fleet.

However, once you hijack a new ship, you’ll soon discover that the rename feature is nowhere to be seen on the ship menu.
To rename, you must head to one of the main cities and find a handy-dandy Ship Technician. The Ship Technician will allow players to buy new ships, run repairs on their current ship and even upgrade it.
After you find the Technician, you’ll need to let him know you’d like to modify your ship. Then, after selecting which vessel you’d like to rename, click on the button hidden next to Flight Check on the bottom right.
This process doesn’t cost players any Credits and can be done anytime, provided a Ship Technician is nearby.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, my Toxic Avenger isn’t going to pilot itself…
