At this point, those wanting to dive into the Metal Gear Solid Collection at launch will need to wait and see how the collection will run because it seems unlikely that Konami will be issuing a clear statement.
Earlier this week, it was reported that The Metal Gear Solid Collection would run at the astounding low resolution of 720p and 30fps. These reports weren’t needlessly erroneous either; these specs came straight from Komani rep’s mouths.
Now, during day one of Gamescon, Konami has backtracked on this by stating that the games will run at 1080p and 60 fps on PC – confusing everyone as to what can be expected.
It’s clear that Konami has allowed reps without solid information to make statements, leading to the current confusion. Even with the latest update, it still needs to be clarified if the games will actually render at 1080p or merely output at 1080p.
There also needs to be more clarity surrounding the game having mouse and keyboard support, with Konami sometimes saying it will only support controllers and sometimes saying it will support mouse and keyboard inputs as well.
Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection Vol.1 will be released on the 24th of October; that much is clear, at least, so fans don’t have much longer to wait and see how it all pans out.
