I’ve had my eye on The Wagadu Chronicles since they first announced their Kickstarter. A sandbox MMO inspired by Africa’s rich and diverse cultures resonated with me, and I’m quite pleased to see that they have officially launched their Steam Page.
Hello friends! We are on #Steam!❤️🔥🙌🏾
If you are curious about the game -or simply to support a small, colourful independent studio trying to make a difference in the industry – we'd be eternally grateful if you Wishlist us and boost the algorithm 🫶🏾🥰

While you can only Wishlist the game at present, they hope you’ll do so in order to “boost the algorithm”. In their most recent newsletter, the team at Twin Drums said that the Early Access launch will be close towards the end of this year.
What’s also noteworthy is that The Wagadu Chronicles will not only be a playable MMO game, but it is also a 5E Dungeons and Dragons book that players can use to roleplay with on their tabletop games nights. Twin Drums promises that more 5E news is coming “very very soon”.
The MMO will be an online sandbox where players will take on tactical PvE combat, village building, resource gathering and item crafting. The game will be steeped in African lore and will allow players to tune in to the spirit world in village based competition to appease the Waka Gods.
The team at Twin Drums is hoping to bring Africa into the fantasy world with The Wagadu Chronicles, showing the world that there is more out there than the typical Eurocentric settings we have become so used to.
