Looks like the rumours of Quake 2 being announced during Quake-con were spot on. Thanks PEGI.
Quake 2 Remastered is available on Steam, GOG, Xbox, PlayStation and even Nintendo Switch. If you already have it in your Steam Library, GOG Library or Microsoft Store Library then you’ll get the remastered version for free. Also, the game is playable on Game Pass since Bethesda is now a part of the Microsoft family.
Check out the remastered weapons, keeping the old-school look going with a nice, upgraded visual.
The game will feature the classic single-player campaign and expansions and a new set of stories that come with the remaster. Multiplayer will also be wholly crossplay, where you can play locally or online with up to 16 other fraggers. Bots exist too, so if you can’t fill a lobby, just fill it with bots! Multiplayer modes will be Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch and the classic Capture the Flag.
In total, the remastered version includes the single-player campaign, 51 expansion missions, 22 deathmatch maps and Quake 64 to boot.
If you want to pick it up, the game should cost you around R150 on all the platforms, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and Steam.
