The One Ring, a rare one-of-a-kind Magic the Gathering card has been sold to Post Malone for $2 million. Just a bit of chump change for something with so much power if you ask me.
Posty has been involved in the MTG community for a while now and previously held the record for most expensive card, an $800,000 singed Black Lotus, but this card is the card of cards. There’s not a geek out there who doesn’t know about it. It still blows my mind that it even exists and I’m slightly jealous it’s not gathering dust on one of my shelves instead.
We haven’t heard much about the card since it first popped up onto the PSA website just over a month ago. We didn’t even know who the original puller was, but now we have video footage of the handover to Post Malone. Brook Trafton was the original card puller and I can’t tell if he was more excited to sell the card for $2 million or that the card was going to someone as famous as Post Malone.
@brooktrafton When I found the One Ring, the first person who came to mind was @Post Malone. I have played MTG since I was a kid and obviously it would be amazing to keep this card. But for a guy like me, being able to sell it is life changing. I just really hoped it would go to someone who would appreciate it as much as I do. This is my dream come true, meeting Post Malone and him buying the One Ring card from me is literally a moment straight out of a fairytale. Post Malone @Magic: The Gathering you have changed my life. Things like this don’t happen to people like me, I guess it’s magic. I am forever grateful 🙏 ✨ #postmalone #onering #oneofone #mtg #magic #mint #psa #card #magicthegathering #lordoftherings #trading #tradingcards #theonering #sauron #collector #edition #one #gandalf #tradingcardgame
It’s a good thing that the card is going to an actual fan of the game and I’m pretty sure Posty won’t be throwing it into a volcano any time soon, which gives me strong Sauron vibes, just saying.
