PC modders rejoice! Starting with the upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 from Asus, gamers will finally have a graphics card without unsightly cables coming out of it.
What started purely as a concept at Computex 2023 turned into reality as Asus received so much love and enthusiasm for their almost cable-free GPU design, that they put it into mass production.
This range of GPUs will come in the form of a 2.3-slot triple-fan card. The design features a standard PCIe Gen 4.0 x16 interface, which sits in line with another, smaller proprietary interface that feeds into a 16-pin connector, which connects up through the back of the motherboard for a cleaner, cable-free appearance.

While there are still cables, they aren’t visible from the front at all, making this every cable manager’s dream. However, switching to these new cards will be costly as gamers need a new motherboard to support the cards.
Asus is delivering the new motherboards in the form of the Z790 TUF Gaming motherboard and the TX Gaming B760-BTF WIFI, both of which come in black or white, with all their power connectors on the back of the board.
The first renditions of the graphics cards and motherboards are set to arrive by the end of this year, so those wanting to make the change better start saving now.
