In news almost as exciting as watching Jurassic Park for the very first time, Limited Run Games has announced a Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
For those who don’t know, Limited Run Games s an American video game distributor that produces and sells limited quantities of physical video game copies that would otherwise be digital.
Over the last few years, Limited Run Games has produced physical versions of Breach & Clear, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty! and even Stardew Valley. Now they’ve moved on to their next game, the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection.
In celebration of the Jurassic Park 30th anniversary, Limited Run is taking games that were only ever released on cartridges and upgrading them with amber-coloured shells and a series of premium Collector’s Editions that feature light-up cartridges, numbered slipcovers, and a collectable set of posters.
This collection by Limited Run Games includes Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 2: The Choas Continues, originally released across NES, Game Boy and SNES. The games also have some new features thrown in, including save states for each game, new in-game maps, and various quality-of-life fixes that bring these titles into the modern era of gaming.
Jurassic Park lets players step into the role of Dr Alan Grant. After a computer malfunction causes the release of hundreds of fearsome prehistoric predators, players will need to find two children, Tim and Lex, while facing history’s most powerful ad deadly carnivores.
Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues is set a year after the events of Jurassic Park. As Dr Grant, players will venture back to the island, where Dinosaurs have entirely taken over, and this time, they’re even more frightening than ever.
