Nintendo Switch Sets Sales Record Six Years After Launch

Despite releasing six years ago, the Nintendo Switch has set yet another sales record. When the hybrid console launched in 2017, no one could have predicted how beloved it would be.

Six years later, the Nintendo Switch has sold over 120 million units and has seen more than 50 record-breaking exclusives released for the system.

The Nintendo Switch has been so successful that it has surpassed the PlayStation 4 in sales despite not being around as long.

Now the Nintendo Switch has set another sales record for selling a staggering 380,000 units in Japan for June, the highest figures for June that the system has seen, and a 68% increase from the same month in 2022.

Not only has the Nintendo Switch broken sales record for June in Japan, but the system is also on its way to selling 30 million units, making it Japan’s best-selling console.

Nintendo has seen a surge in popularity over the last few months thanks to the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

And with two more giant releases this year, Super Mario RPG and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. more than likely, we’ll see more records being broken soon.
