During the limited beta for Valve’s upcoming Counter-Strike 2, fans of the shooter got to cycle through some of the maps like Dust 2 and Mirage, having come and gone in competitive mode, as well as being treated to the return of a fan-favourite map, Nuke.
But new versions of classic maps aren’t the only trick Valve has up its sleeve. The latest update included distance effects to all positional sound sources and unique audio occlusion to help with vertical sound positioning in Nuke.
The update also included a brand new animation allowing players to inspect their grenades for the first time in Counter-Strike history. The obvious takeaway from inspecting grenades is that Counter-Strike will almost definitely add grenade skins down the line.
We were extra active on Twitter this morning, which means there's a CS2 update. Today we're adding Casual, swapping out Mirage for Nuke and Office, making adjustments to audio, fixing the slow crouch bug, addressing bunny hopping and more! And you can now inspect grenades. pic.twitter.com/CMjRARG1rH
