Hardcore Realms Coming To World Of Warcraft Classic

Hardcore Realms Coming To World Of Warcraft Classic

In an official announcement from World of Warcraft, it was revealed that Hardcore Realms would be coming to World of Warcraft Classic, at long last. For those who don’t know, Hardcore realms are high-stakes servers where any death is permadeath, so it’s seen as the ultimate challenge for World of Warcraft players.

From what we know about Hardcore realms in Classic, players on this server will only have one life. Once they die, it’s a done deal, and that character can not be revived or resurrected by any means. However, players can still play as a ghost to explore, chat with friends and even interact with their guild.

Players will also e able to use World of Warcraft’s paid character transfer service to move dead characters from Hardcore realms to standard Classic Era WoW servers.

A few safeguards will be implemented to make the Hardcore experience as balanced and fair as possible. Firstly, Hardcore realms are PvE. World of Warcraft is currently tweaking how players are flagged for PvP in these realms to ensure players who participate do so willingly.

Another change is that many quest-related NPCs will no longer be able to be attacked by opposing faction players, and the distance creatures chase before returning to their spawn is being adjusted.

Those of you wanting to dive headfirst into these new servers only have a little longer to wait. Hardcore realms will arrive on the Public Test Realm today, the 29th of June.

Will you be playing on a Hardcore Realm when available? Let us know in the comments.
