Those of us lucky enough to have the premium level of the PlayStation Plus package have some exciting things to look forward to. One of them is cloud gaming.
Unfortunately, in typical big-name brand fashion, we haven’t gotten much more than “we’re in the early stages of testing”, so we don’t have a date or even what the cloud streaming will include, but we do know that Sony is trialling a few games that are in the game catalogue as well as other games that are part of one’s personal library.
Cloud streaming means that PS5 users can hop into games without downloading them first. Pretty neat feature if you’re bouncing between a few games, or just looking for something new to play.
“Our goal is to add this as an additional benefit to PlayStation Plus Premium as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the value of PlayStation Plus,” says Nick Maguire in his blog post.
Fair enough, you’d expect a little VIP treatment when paying a lot more for your subscription.
What do you think about cloud gaming? Do you think we’ll get the service here in SA at launch?
