Japanese game publisher Konami and developer Genvid provided a look at their upcoming narrative game set within the Silent Hill franchise, and to say I am excited is an understatement.
The biggest takeaway from the released teaser trailer is that, for the first time in Silent Hill history, players will have a direct and notable impact on the story that plays out in the game.
No doubt, inspired by Telltale Games’ narrative style, Silent Hill: Ascension will incorporate branching storylines and player-driven choices into the game, emphasising multiplayer interactivity.
The trailer also showed off the newly polished nightmare world of Silent Hill alongside all the terrifying monsters, frightening environments and mysterious characters to go with it. Silent Hill: Ascension looks like everything Silent Hill fans have been looking for.
Currently, little else is known about the project except for the fact that the audience will be the ones to decide the destiny of multiple main characters. It is a sort of Dark Pictures Anthology deal.
Silent Hill: Ascension is just one of many Silent Hill projects currently in development, and while a release window or platforms is yet to be announced – I couldn’t be more excited.
