Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Closed Beta Footage Leaked

Hogwarts Legacy was released recently this year, and, to no one’s surprise, it did really well. One of the biggest things that was missing, however, was the infamous sport of Quidditch. Luckily for us sports fanatics, WB Games announced a standalone version of Quidditch called Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.

Of course, with new games comes beta testing. We all know this, and we all know that there are people out there that completely forget what an NDA is. Because of these kinds of people, the internet quickly gets videos of these games, still undergoing development, for everyone to gawk or to grimace at.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is no different.

On the Quidditch Champions subreddit, footage was posted showing actual gameplay from a streamer during the closed beta testing. Of course, WB Games were quick to catch the leak, and if you do find the post on the subreddit, you will see the video has already been removed, and I’m sure the streamer is now somewhere in some desert undergoing questioning.

The footage did give viewers a glimpse at broom control and various matches, but the main takeaway was the amount of customisability that the game will offer. You will be able to customise your character’s appearance, broom trails, celebrations and emotes, and, I’m sure, much more. This hints at the idea of the game being something like Apex, Fortnite, League of Legends or Rocket League. A game that is free to play but has a battle pass or a shop where a user can spend real-world money to buy pretty things for their character.

I can’t wait to have a triple-set broom that blows fire out the back and a magical gorilla that pounds its chest when I score a goal, but I guess we’ll have to wait for WB Games to give us a little more information before I get my hopes up.
