With the launch of Street Fighter 6 just under a month away, Capcom is pulling hard on that hype train horn by releasing a teaser trailer showing off the available characters for the open beta.
The open beta will be running this weekend, from the 19th to the 21st of May, and all that’s required of you is to sign up for a Capcom ID and link your preferred platform. Sounds easy enough, but I would definitely get on it before the actual open beta weekend starts.
The trailer also features two different control types that Street Fighter 6 will have on offer. Classic Mode will allow players that have played Street Fighter before to enjoy the game as they have always known it, with 6 different attack button options. Modern Mode features only four attack button options. It gives new players the opportunity to jump right into the game without having to have extensive knowledge of the combination of buttons needed to perform certain moves. (Thank you, Capcom, my face-roll technique can finally be retired.)
Along with all of this, Vicious explains the Drive Battle System as thee “backbone” of the game and being able to utilise it properly will be the defining difference between noobs, like myself, and proper Street Fighters.
In case you’re watching the video without any sound, the playable characters for this weekend are Chun-Li, Guile, Jamie, Juri, Ken, Kimberly, Luke and Ryu.
Street Fighter 6 hits the streets on the 2nd of June 2023, on PlayStation, Xbox and Steam.
