Five Anime Series I’m Binging On Crunchyroll This May

Please don’t stone me or refuse to read anything I write ever again, but I’ve only recently started watching Anime. And by recently, I mean within the last month. Don’t misunderstand; I’ve watched the basics like One Piece, Demon Slayer, Death Note, etc. I’ve just never really explored much further than that until now.

I recently subscribed to Crunchyroll, and for those who don’t already know, Crunchyroll is, at its core, Netflix for Anime. It’s a subscription service that primarily focuses on East Asian media like Japanese Anime. One of the things that drew me to the service is that much of the Anime available on it can be watched dubbed in English, and for someone who mainly watches while they work, this comes in clutch.

So join me, if you’d like, each month as I cover all the Anime I’ll be binging on Crunchyroll. Now without furth ado, here’s my binge list for May 2023:

Insomniacs After School

The second season of the much-loved Vinland Saga started airing on both Netflix and Crunchyroll in January and is set to finish in June. Viewers follow Thorfinn on a new quest, where he seeks salvation and peace after Askeladd’s death.

Vinland Saga is a Viking-themed series that has received critical praise for its dynamic characters. It adapts the Japanese historical manga series written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura.

In season 3, Tanjiro, Nezuko and their friends encounter new enemies in the Swordsmith Village Arc, but they’ll get a little help. Viewers will be treated to two new Hashira and a couple of formidable demons in the third season, exclusively available on Crunchyroll.

Dr. Stone: New World

Dr. Stone: New World is a series that debuted in April on Crunchyroll and has new episodes available weekly. The series follows Senkuu Ishigami and his team as they dig deeper into the cause of the petrification in Dr. Stone: New World.

More driven than ever, the scientist explores the new world and discovers what it can offer for his scientific cause. Though the uncharted territories may hide unkind surprises, Senkuu, with some scientific help, is ready to take on any challenge.

Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!

Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! takes us through the ambitious wizard Megumin’s pursuit of explosion magic. The series is a lighthearted prequel story showing how Megumin’s village and home life influenced her behaviour.

The series adapts a Japanese light novel written by Natsume Akatsuki and takes us to one year before a particular useless goddess and NEET extraordinaire hit the scene. Ever since a life-changing encounter in her youth, the young wizard has dedicated her every waking moment to pursuing the ultimate offensive magic: Explosion magic.
