Rain Launches National 4G Mobile Network and a Juicy Package with it

I don’t know about you, but I prefer doing things that are convenient. I have a lot of games to play, and if other things in my life can be that much more convenient, then that is how I’d like them to be.

It seems Rain has also felt the convenient vibes that I’ve been putting out into the world, and they have introduced a pretty sweet product called Rain One, or rainOne, for the cool people.

The product offers both an uncapped home 5G service and a mobile 4G plan, all bundled into one package.

The package combines unlimited 5G Wifi for the home and two mobile SIM cards that come with 2GB of data, 60 minutes of call time and 100 SMSs, each. That’s a lot of nuts, and for the price of only R559 per month, on a non-contractual basis, it ticks many boxes for people out there. If you feel like that isn’t enough for your mobile plan, Rain is offering bolt-on plans to boost the SIM card for an extra R75 per month per bolt-on level. Both SIMs will get the extra boost too.

Rain says that they can now offer the 4G plans due to the acquisition of spectrum in a 2022 auction. Rain has been able to add a “new layer” to this acquired spectrum allowing them to offer national 4G, voice and SMS coverage alongside Vodacom, MTN and Telkom. Of course, rain is also offering number porting, so if you are interested in switching over to Rain, you can do so without losing your very popular cellphone number.

While the package itself is very appealing, the mixed reviews of Rain’s 5G coverage might make some customers wait for tried and tested feedback on the service, before jumping over.

Would this package be something you’d grab? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments.
