New IP From Titanfall Devs is in the Works

I absolutely loved Titanfall 2, the multiplayer was just great fun, but the campaign is what really got me hooked. If you haven’t played it, do yourself a favour and grab it, I’ll let you know that I’ve only ever cried for a robot one other time, which was for Wall-E.

While the hope for a Titanfall 3 seems lost, a recent interview with Respawn Director Vince Zampella let loose that Steve Fukuda, director of the Titanfall series, has gathered up a “small team” and is working on a new IP.

In the interview, Vince mentioned that Titanfall 3 has to be created “at the right time”. With the whole universe essentially being built by the Apex Legends series, the game can’t just willy-nilly launch beside it and throw a spanner or two into the already-established lore. This means that whatever Steve’s small “skunkworks” team is up to is something completely new. We have nothing else to go on besides this tiny piece of information. I’ll keep my Google ears set for anything related to Fukuda and whatever he’s working on, but until then, we can only imagine.

Vince also spoke about two more Star Wars games that are in the works, how Battlefield differentiates itself from Call of Duty, and his plans to bring Battlefield out of the rut it’s currently in by working with former CoD executive Byron Beede.

I’m excited to see what Steve and his team can think up for their new project, and I suppose for now, I’ll have to keep my Titanfall 3 dreams alive by wrecking okes as best I can in Apex Legends, which has some new content coming real soon too.
