If there is something I hear more than I do my name, it’s Call of Duty, the game that seems to be everywhere, always, all the time. At least today, we aren’t discussing the franchise in relation to Sony or Microsoft or wondering how the game will run on Nintendo Switch.
No, today we’re here to talk about the fact that in 2024 Call of Duty should receive an official… wait for it… boardgame, thanks to a Kickstarter campaign that is set to get underway later this year. If you think this is a belated April Fool’s joke, I’m here to promise you it is not.
From what we know, the Call of Duty board game will bring the COD experience players know and love to tabletops, sans the bloodshed. Players will play as Operators and enter the battlefield with signature weapons and combat skills.
Arcane Wonders is developing the game and will boast many iconic maps, game modes and team-based gameplay. I’m unconvinced that a board game will be able to capture the rush of playing Call of Duty like the game is promising, but hey, if Monopoly can get your blood boiling, then who knows what a Call of Duty board game can do?
