I don’t think I have to waste any time telling you dear reader, about my other love outside of video games. But because I never get tired of talking about it, I will. It’s board games. If I’m not sitting playing video games I’m taking a break by sitting and playing a good board game and if I have the time, I’m playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Last year was pretty exciting as my two interests collided when the Gold Box Dungeons and Dragons games were released on Steam with updates making the games from my childhood far more smooth on the PC I have now.
Today is another happy day as SNEG, the company behind making the Gold Box Dungeons and Dragons games run so well has just announced they are at it again. This time they’re bringing eight other classic Dungeon and Dragons games, including Spelljammer, DragonStrike, and the Silver Box games to Steam and GOG.
“I’m an old D&D fan and it was always my dream to bring back all its video game classics, Back in 2015, I started making that dream come true by bringing the Gold Box titles back to gamers, and now we are continuing with this dream by bringing back another portion of classics to both GOG and Steam.” – SNEG director Oleg Klapovskiy.
Many of the Silver Box games that the studio is working on aren’t as well known as the Gold Box ones we’ve already received however they are some of the most exciting Dungeons and Dragons campaigns around, and who doesn’t love playing some old-school adventure games?
So if you want to take a walk through 80s and 90s video game history with me, the games that SNEG is currently working on are:
