Starfield Gets A Release Date, Again

Almost a year after its original planned release date, Starfield from Bethesda Game Studios is officially on the road to release. For those who might have missed all the buzz surrounding the game last year, Starfield is an upcoming sci-fi RPG that will have players exploring the galaxy.

The game was originally teased back in 2018 at E3 and according to Bethesda will boast more than 1000 planets and over 100 different star systems for players to explore throughout the game.

When it launches Starfield will be one of the first Microsoft-published games to come in at a premium price point of roughly R1300. According to Microsoft, this price will reflect the content, scale and technical complexity of a title like Starfield, but all is not lost as the game is set to be a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.

But now the question comes of when players can expect this multiple-times-delayed game to be available. According to the game’s director Todd Howard, players can expect to see more of the game at a Starfield Direct event on June 11 and play the game on September 6th of this year.

Accompanying the new release date was also a brand new release date trailer that included shows of a space station along with a narrator encouraging players to uncover the source of it all.

Todd Howard also said the game will feature “many of the hallmarks that you’d expect from the studio but would ultimately be a unique experience.
