I’m always excited when any classic Nintendo title gets released for the Nintendo Switch. This time around, it’s a Wii game I always wanted to play but never got around to, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and it’s not only releasing on the Switch, but it’s getting a complete remaster as well.
In case you missed it when it was released for Wii back in 2011, the game follows Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede and Waddle Dee as they set out to investigate a range, dimension-hopping spaceship called the Lor Starcutter which suddenly flies out of a wormhole and crashes onto Kirby’s home planet of Popstar.
When the game was first released, it was met with almost universal praise, with many critics appreciating the return of traditional Kirby gameplay, describing the game as refreshing and fun.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe isn’t just a straight remaster for the Nintendo Switch; it’s also adding a variety of new features for first-time and returning players to enjoy. From what Nintendo has revealed, there will be a mini-game theme park Merry Magoland. Merry Magoland will also serve as a hub for various mini-games that up to four players can enjoy.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe will release for the Nintendo Switch on February 24, and it’s gearing up to be one of the greats.
