Call of Duty has just announced a new free-to-play small map, which will feature DMZ and the extremely popular Resurgence.
The new map is called Ashika Island and features seven named locations; these are Oganikku Farms, Town Center, Beach Club, Tsuki Castle, Residential, Shipwreck, and lastly, Port Ashika.

Ashika Island is set to be released on the 15th of February, and it’s very much on point for the franchise to give us time to spend with our significant others the day before so we can get stuck into the new map immediately upon launch.
The Resurgence game mode is a respawn-enabled Battle Royale that traditionally takes place on smaller maps. The game mode was first introduced to Call of Duty’s Warzone 1 during the height of the pandemic in December 2020.
The first map for the Resurgence mode was Rebirth Island, developed by Raven Software. The map and mode were so popular that it often had more players than the main Warzone Battle Royale mode on the Verdansk map.
After Rebirth Island came Fortune’s Keep, developed by Activision’s developer, High Moon Studio, who are the same team behind Ashika Island. While Fortune’s Keep didn’t have the same popularity as Rebirth Island, many fans still enjoyed the map.
In other news, while EA today announced that they’re shutting down Apex Legends Mobile and have cancelled the Battlefield mobile title, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile still looks to be set for a 2023 release!
