It has been a while since we last got this excited about a Huawei smartphone; the new Mate50 Pro offers some insane features, particularly related to the camera and screen. Even though there still is no official Google Services on this device, an application bundled with the phone will allow you to access a number of Google apps, including Chrome, Photos, YouTube, and Drive.
When it comes to taking photos, the Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera sports an adjustable physical aperture that lets you shoot photos with impressive bokeh or background blur, which used to only be possible with a DSLR camera or software enhancement.
The smartphone has a 6.74-inch display and a screen resolution of 2616 x 1212 pixels. For gamers, the high refresh rate of 120Hz is an excellent addition too.
The Mate50 Pro has two rear cover options you can choose from, glass and vegan leather. The glass back is available in two colours, Silver and Black, while the vegan leather version comes in Orange and is inspired by the radiant orange rays of the sun, according to Huawei.
We’re still busy putting this phone through its paces, so check back next week for a full review of the Mate50 Pro, including a closer look at its video and gaming capabilities. For now, here’s a sneak peek at the Huawei Mate50 Pro.
