Boys and girls of every age, would you like to hear something strange? Simon Pegg is officially a Wizard. Yes, and not just any wizard either; he is Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black in Hogwarts Legacy. For those of you who need a little lore refresher, Phineas Nigellus Black is the great-great-grandfather of Sirius Black. Later in life, Phineas would become known as one of the least popular Headmasters in the history of Hogwarts.
And despite his great-great-grandson being one of the best wizards the world has ever seen, Phineas probably wasn’t carrying the gene responsible for that. In Simon Pegg’s words, ” Phineas isn’t noble, he’s not brave, he’s just a self-interested fool.”
Simon Pegg is just the latest actor to be confirmed for the game, and he joins a colourful cast. So far, Lesley Nicol is confirmed as Professor Matilda Weasley. Kandace Caine is voicing Professor Onai, and Luke Youngblood, who played Lee Jordan in the Harry Potter films, will also be returning for the role of Ravenclaw student Everett Clopton.
Other notable voices are Sebastian Croft and Amelia Gething, providing voice options for the game’s playable avatar, and Jason Anthony as Nearly Headless Nick and the Sorting Hat.
Hogwarts Legacy will be available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 10, on April 4 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on Nintendo Switch on July 25.
