Who can even believe that rAge Expo 2022 is only days away? It feels like a lifetime since we last came together to celebrate everything geeky, gaming and tech that makes rAge what it is. But now, rAge is back and all set to be bigger, better and more exciting than ever.
As someone who plays hopelessly too many games (while also not nearly enough), one of the biggest draws to rAge, and the one thing that sets it aside from any and all other conventions and expos, is, without a doubt, the NAG LAN.
There is just something about hundreds of gamers in one space together, sharing joy, victories, losses and frustrations, that makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger than just yourself and a community.
However, there is more to the NAG LAN than just supplying gaming tables and chairs. One of the integral parts of making the magic happen is, of course, the internet connection. And this year, Clear Access is the company behind the gargantuan task of supplying the infrastructure to support hundreds of gamers with lag aversions and internet additions (be honest).
For years now, Clear Access has been the backbone of media houses across the country. They’re also the reason why most of South Africa’s live sports events can be streamed on TV. Still, this year, Clear Access has decided to take on its biggest challenge yet – keeping the country’s most enthusiastic gamers connected and happy.
Thanks to Clear Access, the NAG LAN at rAge Expo 2022 will boast a mind-blowingly impressive 30Gb/s connection that will make many gamers (Read: Me) consider staying at the NAG LAN long after the event has ended.
Not only will there be a 30Gb/s connection, but that connection also comes with TCP/IP acceleration, which can accelerate data downloads and media streaming during the handshake of the TCP connection. This means that gamers who need to download new maps and updates for their games will be able to do so at a far reduced time than when using other connections.
Gamers, internet addicts and connectivity enthusiasts interested in Clear Access but won’t be attending the NAG LAN don’t need to feel left out. Clear Access will have a stand at the expo itself. Their whole line of offerings, from Quart to Neutrino, will be on display and a fantastic side project with Ring Cameras.
