In case the name wasn’t clear, Battlefield Mobile, the mobile version of Battlefield, has now officially entered beta, and some readers (probably not you) might qualify to participate. As of this week, players who have an Android device and live in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, or Singapore can jump into the new beta build for the game.
Earlier in the year, Battlefield Mobile rolled out an alpha test in different regions but this will be the game’s first beta test and will include updates and improvements from the alpha in gyro movement and graphics. It’s important to note, though, that any progress made while playing Battlefield Mobile beta will be wiped out for the full release, and any in-game purchases in the beta will be converted to Battlefield Coins with a 25% bonus at launch.
The Battlefield Mobile beta test now includes Conquest, Rush, Team Deathmatch, and Warpath modes. Players can choose between Assault, Engineer, Support, or Recon. There are also time-gated assignments and challenges to keep players returning to the game. One of the cool things about this beta is that it’s considered an open beta, meaning players can share their experience using in-game footage to their heart’s desire.
If you’re keen to jump into Battlefield Mobile ASAP but don’t feel like packing up and moving across the world to do so, EA has said that they will be expanding the beta to new regions over time; how much time, however, remains a mystery much like the full games release date.
However, if you do live in one of the required regions (or you just plan on trying your luck and spoofing your locations), here’s how you can participate:
Download the game from the Google Play Store.
Battlefield Mobile is free-to-download and play and will feature its own Battle Passes, collectable cosmetics, and unlockables unique to the mobile game.
