CD Projekt Red Hints At A New Witcher Trilogy

Regardless of their little “Cyberpunk 2077” snafu, CD Projekt Red remains one of the world’s most beloved game development studios – in no small part due to their work in bringing one of the gaming world’s most universally loved franchises to life with The Witcher games.

Ever since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released back in 2015, gamers have been eagerly awaiting word on the next entry into the franchise, and after the Netflix adaptation, the buzz and interest surrounding the next game have been more intense than ever.

Now, thanks to CD Projekt Red’s president – it seems like gamers have more to be excited about than just a single new Witcher game. Instead, it’s looking like a New Witcher Trilogy is on the horizon. Yesterday during CD Projekt Red’s earnings call, Adam Kiciński, the company’s president, spoke about the previously announced “Witcher 4” game and how it will be the first Witcher title in the new saga.

“We said there will be a new saga. Of course, now, we’re pre-producing the first game of this saga, but we have in mind more than one game. So the first saga comprised of three games, so now we are thinking about more than one game, but we are in pre-production on the first game from the second Witcher saga.”

Steering the conversation back to the upcoming fourth Witcher game, Adam Kiciński confirmed that the game is currently on track and is in the pre-production phase. While Adam Kiciński didn’t give us any further info about the direction the new game will take, we know that Geralt is unlikely to be the main protagonist of the new game and upcoming saga.

How do you think will take over in the new saga? Will it be Ciri or someone new? Let us know down below.
