MultiVersus Heading Into Beta Next Week

Over the last few months, there has been a lot of buzz and hype surrounding Warner Bros. free-to-play franchise-crossover fighter game, MultiVersus. The game promises to see beloved characters face off against each other in a violent fever dream of fandom matchups. Want to see Jake the Dog go against Bugs Bunny? Well, you can, and soon.

According to Warner Bros., players who took part in the MultiVersus closed alpha test will automatically get early access to the game’s official beta event, which starts July 19th. Suppose you’d like to jump in and test drive the game for yourself (before everyone else), but you weren’t one of the previous testers. In that case, you’ll have to sign-up on the MultiVersus website and then tune in to watch any of the participating streamers on Twitch for a chance to win an early access beta key.

Otherwise, head over to the website, sign-up, and you can jump into the open beta event, which starts July 26th.

For those who have managed to avoid the hype, MultiVersus will be a free-to-play fighting game with various online modes, including 1v1, team-based 2v2, and a 4-player free-for-all. The current game version (available to play in beta) includes many playable characters from Warner Bros. movies and shows.

Currently, the game boasts 15 characters, which includes characters from Steven Univers, Game of Thrones, Adventure Time and even DC heroes and supervillains. It’s also worth noting that Warner Bros. has already stated that they plan to increase the roster as time passes. And if the rumour mill is to be believed, two of the first additions to the roster will be Rick and Morty.

As of now, an official release date for the full version of MultiVersus has yet to be announced.
